Skirpenbeck Play Area

After following the Parish Councils annual play area inspection, concerns have been raised over the state of the timber trail located at Skirpenbeck Play Area.

Following this news, the Parish Council have made the hard decision to have the equipment in question removed until a time that the equipment can be replaced. This is to ensure the health and safety of all those who access the play area. The Parish Council will be looking into replacing the equipment as soon as possible. Until then we would encourage all users to be careful when accessing the site.

If you have any queries or concerns regarding the equipment, please contact clerk@fullsuttonskirpenbeck-pc.gov.uk.

East Riding Domestic Abuse Services

Domestic Abuse is a topic that most of us do not want to think about let alone talk about, but it affects every community at every level. You or someone you know may already have been impacted by domestic abuse as statistically it affects one in four women and one in six men over their lifetime. It impacts on 750,000 children each year in England and it costs the UK economy an estimated £66 billion pounds a year.

Would you know what signs to look out for? Would you know what to do if someone in your family or community needed help?

If the answer is no but you would like to know more then we would love to come and talk with your council members, give a presentation or just provide you with posters and leaflets for your community.

We would like to try and ensure those impacted by Domestic Abuse across the whole East Riding know that local services are here to help, give confidential advice and support.

Time to get walking again!

With Spring on its way we start to think about getting out to walk in the beautiful English countryside again, but where to find new and interesting walks?

Walking in Yorkshire https://www.walkinginengland.co.uk/yorkshire has loads of walks to download and print, free, it also has books of walks, details of all the walking groups in the county and much more. Whether you want to walk on your own or with a group all the information is there in one place.

John Harris (who maintains the website) said ‘There is so much walking information on the web but it is difficult to find. Walking in Yorkshire (part of the Walking in England website) has brought it together in one place so whether you are walking from home, or away on holiday, you will be able to find a walk suitable for you’.

With walks from half a mile to twelve miles plus long, and a note of suitability for pushchairs and wheelchairs, everyone can find a walk to enjoy.

So home or away, check out the websites and get walking!
